Oil of Oregano

Oregano is more then just kitchen spice! It is a potent natural antibiotic and has anti inflammatory properties. It is also a powerful antioxidant, is anti fungal, and can even help manage pain.

Oregano contains compounds called phenols, terpenes, and terpenoids. They have powerful antioxidant properties and are responsible for their fragrance:

Carvacrol. The most abundant phenol in oregano, it has been shown to stop the growth of several different types of bacteria.

Thymol. This natural antifungal can also support the immune system and protect against toxins.

Rosmarinic acid. This powerful antioxidant helps protect against damage caused by free radicals.

Oil of Oregano can be used both internally and externally. It is taken internally, most commonly, for cold and cough prevention. It can be taken at the first signs of a cold to help shorten the duration of symptoms. The oil can also be applied to the bottoms of the feet if the taste is to strong to take by mouth.

It can be used externally to help alleviate skin conditions such as acne, athlete's foot, dandruff, warts, toothache and skin infections.
